وَعَن شَقِيق قَالَ: مرض عبد الله بن مَسْعُود فَعُدْنَاهُ فَجَعَلَ يَبْكِي فَعُوتِبَ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي لَا أَبْكِي لِأَجْلِ الْمَرَضِ لِأَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «الْمَرَضُ كَفَّارَةٌ» وَإِنَّمَا أبْكِي أَنه أَصَابَنِي عَلَى حَالِ فَتْرَةٍ وَلَمْ يُصِبْنِي فِي حَال اجْتِهَاد لِأَنَّهُ يكْتب للْعَبد من الْجَرّ إِذَا مَرِضَ مَا كَانَ يُكْتَبُ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمْرَضَ فَمَنَعَهُ مِنْهُ الْمَرَضُ. رَوَاهُ رَزِينٌ
On the authority of Shaqiq, he said: Abdullah bin Masoud fell ill, so we visited him, and he started crying, so he was rebuked, and he said: I do not cry because of illness, because I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. And he said: “Illness is an expiation.” I only cry because it affected me in a state for a while and did not affect me during a state of effort, because it A preposition is written for the servant if he falls ill, as it was written for him before he fell ill and the illness prevented him from doing so.
