Hadith #48913
وَعَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ: أَرْسَلَتِ ابْنَةُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيْهِ: إِنَّ ابْنًا لِي قُبِضَ فَأْتِنَا. فَأَرْسَلَ يُقْرِئُ السَّلَامَ وَيَقُولُ: «إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا أَخَذَ وَلَهُ مَا أَعْطَى وَكُلٌّ عِنْدَهُ بِأَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى فَلْتَصْبِرْ وَلْتَحْتَسِبْ» . فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهِ تُقْسِمُ عَلَيْهِ لَيَأْتِيَنَّهَا فَقَامَ وَمَعَهُ سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ وَمُعَاذُ بْنُ جبل وَأبي بن كَعْب وَزيد ابْن ثَابِتٍ وَرِجَالٌ فَرُفِعَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّبِيُّ وَنَفْسُهُ تَتَقَعْقَعُ فَفَاضَتْ عَيْنَاهُ. فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا هَذَا؟ فَقَالَ: «هَذِهِ رَحْمَةٌ جَعَلَهَا اللَّهُ فِي قُلُوبِ عِبَادِهِ. فَإِنَّمَا يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الرُّحَمَاء»
On the authority of Osama bin Zaid, he said: The daughter of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, sent to him: A son of mine has died, so come to us. So he sent a message of greeting and said: “Indeed, to Allah belongs what He has taken, and to Him is what He has given, and everything with Him has an appointed term, so be patient and seek reward.” So she sent an oath to him He was asked to go to it, so he stood up, and with him were Saad bin Ubadah, Muadh bin Jabal, Ubayy bin Ka’b, Zaid bin Thabit, and some men, and it was taken to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He greeted the boy while his breath was shaking and his eyes welled up. Saad said: O Messenger of God, what is this? He said: “This is a mercy that He has granted us.” God is in the hearts of His servants. For God only has mercy on those of His merciful servants.”
