Hadith #49083
On the authority of Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Every Muslim must give charity.” They said: What if he does not find it? He said: “Let him work with his hands to benefit himself and give alms.” They said: What if he is not able? Or did he not? He said: “He will help someone who is in need and anxious.” They said: If he doesn't do it? He said: “He enjoins good.” They said: So why did he do it? He said: “So he abstains from evil, for it is charity for him.”
