Hadith #49368
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ صَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ كَمَثَلِ صَاحِبِ الْإِبِلِ الْمُعَقَّلَةِ إِنْ عَاهَدَ عَلَيْهَا أَمْسَكَهَا وَإِنْ أَطْلَقَهَا ذَهَبَتْ»
On the authority of Ibn Umar, the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “The example of the companion of the Qur’an is that of the owner of hamstred camels, if he treats them well.” He catches her, and if he releases her, she goes away.”
