عَن الصعب بن جثامة أَنه أهْدى رَسُول اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِمَارًا وَحْشِيًّا وَهُوَ بِالْأَبْوَاءِ أَوْ بِوَدَّانَ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا رأى مَا فِي وَجْهَهُ قَالَ: «إِنَّا لَمْ نَرُدَّهُ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا أنَّا حُرُمٌ»
On the authority of Al-Saab bin Jathamah that he gave the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, a gift of a wild donkey while it was in the brood or bud, and he returned it to him, and when he saw what was on its face, he said: “We did not return it to you unless we were inviolable.”
