Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #50385

On the authority of Ataa, who said: We attended with Ibn Abbas the funeral of Maimuna in Saraf, and he said: This is the wife of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. You have raised her coffin, so do not disturb it, do not shake it, and be gentle with it, for there were nine people with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Of the women, among whom he used to distribute to eight but not to one. Ata’ said: The one to whom the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, did not divide. We learned that she was Safiyya, and she was the last of them to die. She died in Medina, and Razin said: He said without giving: She is Sawda, which is more correct. She gave that day to Aisha. When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, wanted to divorce her, she said to him: Hold me, I have given my day to Aisha, so that I may be one of your wives in Paradise.
