Hadith #51096
وَعَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي خطْبَة: «أَوْفوا بِحلف الْجَاهِلِيَّة فَإِنَّهُ لَا يزِيد يَعْنِي الْإِسْلَامَ إِلَّا شِدَّةً وَلَا تُحْدِثُوا حَلِفًا فِي الإِسلامِ» . رَوَاهُ الترمذيُّ من طريقِ ابنِ ذَكْوَانَ عَنْ عَمْرٍو وَقَالَ: حَسَنٌ.
On the authority of Amr bin Shuaib, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said in a sermon: “Fulfill the oath of pre-Islamic times, for it does not exceed “Islam means nothing but hardship, and do not swear an oath in Islam.” It was narrated by Al-Tirmidhi on the authority of Ibn Dhakwan, on the authority of Amr, and he said: Hasan.
