Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #48621

On the authority of Jabir, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, prayed the prayer of fear, so we lined up behind him in two rows, while the enemy was between us and the qiblah, so the Prophet said “Allahu Akbar.” May God bless him and grant him peace. We all said “Allahu Akbar,” then he bowed, and we all bowed, then he raised his head from bowing, and we all raised our heads, then He and the next row went down prostrating, and the rear row stood in the enemy's throat. When the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, completed the prostration and the next row stood up The back row went down and prostrated, then they stood up, then the back row advanced and the front fell behind. Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, bowed and we all bowed, then he raised his head from bowing and we all raised him, then he descended in prostration and the next row that was at the back The first rak'ah, and the rear row stood in the enemy's throat. When the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, finished He said the salutation of prostration and the next row, the back row descended with prostration, so they prostrated, then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, saluted us all.
