Bulugh al-Maram — Hadith #52446

On the authority of Thabit bin Al-Dahhak - may God be pleased with him - he said: “A man made a vow during the time of the Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - to slaughter camels at Buwanah. So he came to the Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - and asked him: ‘Was there an idol worshipped there?’ He said: ‘No.’ He said: ‘Was there a festival of their festivals held there?’” He said: No. 1 He said: “Fulfill your vow, for there is no fulfillment of a vow in disobedience to God, nor in severing ties of kinship, nor in something that a person does not own.” Narrated by Abu Dawud and At-Tabarani, and the wording is his, and it has a sound chain of narration. 21 - “He said: No” is missing from “A”. 2 - Authentic. Narrated by Abu Dawud (3313), and At-Tabarani in “Al-Kabir” (2/57-76/1341).
