Bulugh al-Maram — Hadith #53133

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "The best friend is the easiest." Narrated by Abu Dawood, and proved by Al-Hakim 1 - Sahih. Narrated Abu Dawood (2117) and Al-Hakim (2/181-182). According to Al-Hakim: By Quba bin Amir, Allah may be pleased with him - the Prophet - May Allah bless him and give him peace - said to a man: "Will you be satisfied with me by marrying such a man?" He said, "Yes. He said to the woman, "Do you want me to marry you so-and?" He said, "Yes. So one of them married his friend, but he did not impose dowry on him and gave him nothing. He was among those who witnessed Hudaybiyah - and a part of the hymn who witnessed Hudaybiyah - so when death came to him, he said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah's mercy and peace be upon me, and I have not imposed a dowry on him, and I have not given him anything, and I have given him a share of my share." Khayber, so he took a part and sold for one lakh. He said, "And He says, 'Blessed Allah Bless Him and give him peace - say: 'The best dowry is the easiest.'"
