ثم واصلنا سيرنا. وأخيرًا، وصلنا إلى جابر بن عبد الله في مسجده. كان يصلي متلففًا بثوب. فدخلتُ بين المصلين وجلستُ بينه وبين القبلة. وقلتُ: "رحمك الله، أتصلي متلففًا بثوب وعباءتك بجانبك؟" فأشار بيده على صدري، وفرّق أصابعه وثناها. تمنيتُ لو يأتي أحمق مثلك ويرى كيف أفعل ذلك ويفعل مثلي. جاء رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى هذا المسجد وفي يده نخلة ابن طوب، فرأى بعض البصاق على قبلة المسجد. فمسحه بغصن. ثم التفت إلينا وقال: "أيّكم يُريد أن يُعرض عنها؟" فخفنا. ثم قال مرة أخرى: "أيّكم يُريد أن يُعرض عنها؟" فخفنا مرة أخرى. ثم قال: "أيّكم يُريد أن يُعرض عنها؟" قلنا: "لا، لا أحد منا يريد ذلك يا رسول الله!" فقال: "إذا قام أحدكم للصلاة، فإن كعبة الله تعالى تكون باتجاه وجهه، فلا يبصق في وجهه ولا عن يمينه، بل يبصق عن شماله تحت رجله اليسرى، فإن أصابته مصيبة فجأة فليفعل ذلك بثوبه..." ثم طوى ثوبه على نفسه وقال: "أروني زعفرانًا!" فقام شاب من الحي وركض إلى بيته، فأتى بيده عطرًا برائحة الزعفران. فأخذه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ومسح به طرف الغصن، ثم مسح به أثر البصاق، وقال: "من هنا بدأ استخدام الزعفران في مساجدكم." ثم خرجنا مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في غزوة بطن بوفاد. كان يبحث عن مجدي بن عمرو الجهني. تناوبنا خمسة أو ستة أو سبعة منا على ركوب جمله. ثم جاء دور رجل من الأنصار. أنزل الجمل وركبه، ثم قاده. لكن الجمل تردد لحظة. فقال له: "انطلق! لعنك الله!". فسأل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "من يلعن جمله؟". قال الرجل: "أنا يا رسول الله! لا تركبنا على هذا البهيمة! لا تلعنوا أنفسكم! لا تلعنوا أولادكم! لا تلعنوا أموالكم! لا تلعنوا الله في الساعة التي يعطيكم فيها ما تسألون!". فواصلنا السير مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم. ولما حان الوقت واقتربنا من أحد مياه الجزيرة العربية، سأل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "من يتقدمنا ليجهز الحوض ويشرب الماء ويأتينا به؟". قال جابر: "قمتُ على الفور وقلت: ها هو رجل يا رسول الله!" فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "من يذهب معك؟" فقام جبار بن ساعي على الفور، وذهبنا إلى البئر، فملأنا الحوض بدلوين من الماء، ورصصنا الحجارة فيه، ثم ملأناه بالماء حتى امتلأ. وكان أول الواصلين رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: "أتشربون؟" قلنا: "نعم يا رسول الله!" فأطلق جمله فشرب، ثم شد اللجام فباعدت الدابة رجليها فأتبولت، ثم قلبها وأركعها. ثم جاء رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى المعبد فتوضأ فيه. وبعد ذلك، قمتُ وتوضأتُ من نفس الموضع الذي توضأ فيه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. ثم ذهب جبار بن سحر لقضاء حاجته. ثم قام رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم للصلاة. كنتُ أرتدي ثوبًا مخططًا، فحاولتُ لفه حول طرفيه، لكنني لم أستطع الوصول إليهما. كان للثوب أهداب، فقلبتها على ظهرها، ثم لففتُه حول طرفيه، ثم وضعته على حجري. ثم جئتُ ووقفتُ عن يسار رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فأدارني ووقف عن يمينه ثم عن يساره. عندئذٍ، أخذ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بأيدينا ودفعنا، وجعلنا نقف خلفه. دون أن أدري، بدأتُ أرمي التمر على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ثم فهمتُ قصده. أشار بيده، أي: "اربط حزامك". فلما فرغ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من الصلاة، قال: "جابر!". فقلتُ: "أنا جاهز يا رسول الله!". قال: "إن كانت عريضة، فضمّوها من طرفيها! وإن كانت ضيقة، فاربطوها كزر!" مشينا معه (صلى الله عليه وسلم). وكان طعام كل واحد منا تمرة مجففة. كان يمصّها ثم يضعها في ثوبه. وكنا ننفض عنها الأوراق بأقدامنا ونأكلها. حتى أن شفاهنا كانت تتقرح. أقسم أنني في أحد الأيام، سقط منا سهوًا، ولم يُعطَ أحدنا تمرة، فذهبنا إليه (لضعفه) وشهدنا أنه لم يُعطَ تمرة. فأُعطيَ تمرة، فقام وأخذها. مشينا معه (صلى الله عليه وسلم). وأخيرًا، نزلنا إلى وادٍ واسع. فذهب رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم) لقضاء حاجته. فتبعته بقارورة ماء. ثم نظر رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم) حوله، فلم يرَ ما يستر به نفسه. وفجأة، وقعت عيناه على شجرتين على حافة الوادي. ذهب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى إحداهما، فأخذ غصنًا وقال: «أسْلِمِي إِلَيَّ!» فسَلَمَهُ الغصنُ كجملٍ مُلَجَّمٍ عَصِيَ على صاحبه. ثم ذهب إلى الشجرة الأخرى، فأخذ غصنًا وقال: «أسْلِمِي إِلَيَّ!» فسَلَمَهُ الغصنُ أيضًا كالأولى. فلما بلغ وسطهما، ضمَّهما وقال: «أسْلِمِي إِلَيَّ!» قال. فالتصقتا. قال جابر: خرجتُ مسرعًا خشية أن يتحسس رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وجودي فيبتعد. (قال محمد بن عباد: «فيتيبَعَاجِي» بدلًا من «فيبتيدِي»). وجلستُ، وكنتُ أُحدّث نفسي. فنظرتُ صدفةً إلى جانبي، فماذا رأيت؟ كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قادمًا. انفصلت الشجرتان، واستقامت كل منهما على جذعها. رأيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يتوقف لحظة، وأشار برأسه (أشار أبو إسماعيل برأسه يمينًا ويسارًا). ثم سار نحوي، فلما وصل إلى جانبي قال: "يا جابر، أترى أين كنت واقفًا؟" سأل: "ما معنى هذا يا رسول الله؟" قلت: "نعم يا رسول الله!" قال: "اذهب إلى هاتين الشجرتين، واقطع غصنًا من كل منهما. وعندما تقف حيث أنا، ضع غصنًا عن يمينك وغصنًا عن يسارك." قمت، وأخذت حجرًا، وكسرته، وشحذته، فصار حادًا لي. ذهبت إلى الشجرتين، وقطعت غصنًا من كل منهما. ثم جررتهما، وعدت، ووقفت حيث كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم واقفًا. وضعت غصنًا عن يميني وغصنًا عن يساري. ثم لحقت به وقلت: "لقد فعلتُ ذلك يا رسول الله! ما الحاجة إلى ذلك؟" قال: "مررتُ بقبرين لرجلين كانا يُعذَّبان، ودعوتُ الله أن يُخفَّف عذابهما ما دامت هذه الأغصان حية". بعد ذلك، وصلنا إلى الجيش. فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "يا جابر، نادِ: ماء للوضوء!" فصرختُ: "انتباه! ماء للوضوء! انتباه، ماء للوضوء! انتباه، ألا يوجد ماء للوضوء؟" قلت: "يا رسول الله! لم أجد قطرة ماء واحدة في القافلة". وكان رجل من الأنصار يُبرِّد الماء لرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في قربة قديمة مُعلَّقة على سعفة نخل. قال لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «اذهب إلى فلان يا ابن فلان، وانظر هل في قربته شيء؟» فذهبت إليه ونظرت في القربة، فلم أجد فيها إلا قطرة واحدة عند فوهتها، ولو فرغتها لشربها الجزء الجاف منها. فأتيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وقلت: «يا رسول الله، لم أجد فيها إلا قطرة واحدة عند فوهتها، ولو فرغتها لشربها الجزء الجاف منها، فأتيني بها!» فأمرني. فأتيت به إليه، فأخذها بيده وهمس بكلمات لم أفهمها، وكان يعصرها بكلتا يديه، ثم ناولني إياها وقال: «يا جابر، قل: إناء كبير!» فقلت: «يا صاحب إناء القافلة!» حملوها على الفور وأحضروها إليّ، فوضعتُ الإناء أمامه. عندئذٍ، أشار رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بيده داخل الإناء، فبسطها وفرّق بين أصابعه، ثم وضعها في قاع الإناء وقال: "يا جابر، خذه واسكبه عليّ وقل بسم الله!". فسكبتُ الماء عليه على الفور وقلتُ بسم الله. ثم رأيتُ الماء يغلي بين أصابع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ثم غلى الإناء ودار حتى امتلأ. فقال: "يا جابر، نادِ على من يحتاج إلى ماء!". وكان نائمًا. ثم جاء الجمع وشربوا حتى ارتوت. فقلتُ: "هل بقي أحد يحتاج إلى شيء؟". فرفع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يده فوق الإناء الممتلئ. اشتكوا إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من الجوع، فقال: «اللهم أطعمكم!». ثم وصلنا إلى شاطئ البحر، فهاجت الأمواج وألقت بهيمة، فأشعلنا النار في نصفها وطبخنا الطعام، وشويناه وأكلنا حتى شبعنا. ثم دخلت أنا وفلان وفلان (عدّ خمسة أشخاص) في عين هذه البهيمة، فلم يرنا أحد. ثم خرجنا، فأخذنا ضلعًا من أحد أضلاعها وثنيناه، ثم أحضرنا أضخم رجل في القافلة، وأضخم جمل، وأضخم ثوب، فدخل تحتها ولم يخفض رأسه. ويعني هذا الطفل الذي يقترب من سن البلوغ، وقد قال بعضهم إنه يعني الطفل الذي بدأ يأكل، وقال آخرون إنه يعني الطفل الذي بلغ الخامسة من عمره. على الرغم من أن كلمة "وآهزته" في الرواية الثانية تُنسب إلى (وا) في جميع روايات مسلم، فقد قال النووي إن هذا خطأ، وأن الصيغة الصحيحة هي (و). لأن المقصود هو أن يتمنى المرء أن يرتدي أحدهم ثوبًا من قماش مخطط، والآخر ثوبًا من قماش معافري. أي ثوبين. وقد قال البعض إنها تعني ثوبين جديدين. وبحسب أبي عبيدة، المعجمي، فإنها تعني الزعفران. وقال الأسماء إنها تعني عطورًا مختلفة ممزوجة بالزعفران. ووفقًا لتعريفه، فإن كلمة "خلوق" لها نفس المعنى، وهو ما قصده الحديث. بواد: هو اسم أحد جبال الجهينة.
Then we walked on. Finally, we came to Jabir ibn Abdillah in his mosque. He was praying, wrapped in a garment. I stepped through the congregation and sat between him and the qibla. And I said: "May Allah have mercy on you, are you praying wrapped in a garment while your cloak is beside you?" He made a gesture with his hand on my chest, spread his fingers apart and curved them. I wished that a fool like you would come and see how I do it and do the same. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to this mosque with a date palm of Ibn Tub in his hand, and he saw some spit on the qibla of the mosque. And he wiped it away with a branch. Then he turned to us and said: "Which of you would want to turn away from it?" We were frightened. Then he said again: "Which of you would want to turn away from it?" We were frightened again. Then he said, "Which of you would want to turn away from it?" We said, "No! None of us (would want that), O Messenger of Allah!" He said, "When one of you stands up to pray, surely the Kaaba of Allah, the Exalted, is towards the direction of his face. Therefore, he should not spit towards his face or to his right. He should spit to his left, under his left foot. If a sudden calamity befalls him, he should do this with his garment..." Then, folding his garment over himself, he said, "Show me a saffron!" Thereupon, a young man from the neighborhood got up and ran to his house and brought a saffron-scented perfume in his hand. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took it and rubbed it on the end of the branch. Then he wiped away the trace of the spit with it and said, "The practice of using saffron perfume in your mosques originates from here." We set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the expedition to Batn Buvad. He was looking for Majdi ibn Amr al-Juhani. Five, six, or seven of us took turns riding his camel. Then, it was the turn of a man from the Ansar to ride his camel. He made it kneel down and mounted it. Then he drove it. But the camel hesitated for a moment. He said to it: "Go! May Allah curse you!" Thereupon, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who is it that curses his camel?" That man said: "It is me, O Messenger of Allah! Do not accompany us on that cursed animal! Do not curse yourselves! Do not curse your children! Do not curse your possessions! Do not curse Allah at the hour when He grants you what you ask for!" We continued walking with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When the time came and we approached one of the Arabian waters, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Who will go ahead of us to prepare the basin and drink water, and bring us water?" Jabir said, "I immediately got up and said, 'Here is a man, O Messenger of Allah!'" Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Who will go with you?" Immediately, Jabbar ibn Sa'i got up and we went to the well, drew one or two buckets of water into the basin, and built its stones. Then we drew water until it was full. The first to arrive was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who said, "Will you drink?" We replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" He released his camel, and it drank water. He pulled the reins, the animal spread its legs, and urinated. Then he turned it over and made it kneel. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the synagogue and performed ablution there. Afterwards, I got up and performed ablution from the same place where the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had performed ablution. Jabbar ibn Sahr went to relieve himself. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to pray. I was wearing a striped garment, and I tried to wrap it around the two ends. But I couldn't reach it. The garment had fringes. I turned them inside out. Then I wrapped it around the two ends. Then I put it on my lap. And I came and stood to the left of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He turned me and stood to his right and then to his left. Thereupon, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took both of our hands and pushed us, and made us stand behind him. Without realizing it, I started throwing dates at the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Then I understood his intention. He gestured with his hand, meaning, "Tie your belt." When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, he said, "Jabir!" I said, "I am ready, O Messenger of Allah!" He said, "If it is wide, wrap it between the two ends! If it is narrow, tie it like a button!" We walked with him (peace and blessings be upon him). The daily food of each of us was a dried date. He would suck on it and then put it inside his garment. We would shake off leaves with our bows and eat it. Our lips even became sore. I swear that one day, by mistake, one of us was not given a date, and we went to get him (because of his weakness) and testified that he had not been given a date. He was given a date, and he got up and took it. We walked with him (peace and blessings be upon him). Finally, we descended into a wide valley. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went to relieve himself. I followed him with a water container. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) looked around, but he saw nothing to cover himself with. Suddenly, two trees caught his eye on the edge of the valley. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) immediately went to one of them, grasped a branch, and said, "Be submissive to me by my permission!" The branch became submissive to him, like a camel with a bridle that is unruly towards its owner. He went to the other tree, grasped a branch, and said, "Be submissive to me by my permission!" It also became submissive like the other. When he reached the middle of the two, he closed the gap between them (i.e., gathered them together) and said, "Be submissive to me by my permission!" He said. They immediately closed. Jabir said: I ran out (from there) for fear that if the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sensed my presence, he would move away. (Muhammad ibn Abbad said "Feyetebe'acıe" instead of "Feyebteıde"). And I sat down. I was talking to myself. By chance, I looked beside me. And what did I see? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was coming. Those two trees had separated from each other and each had straightened up on its trunk. I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stop for a moment. He made a gesture with his head. (Abu Ismail indicated to the right and left with his head.) Then he walked towards me, and when he came beside me, he said: "Jabir! Did you see where I was standing?" He asked, "What is the meaning of this, O Messenger of Allah?" I replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" He said, "Go to these two trees and cut a branch from each. When you stand where I am, place one branch to your right and one to your left." I got up, picked up a stone, broke it, and sharpened it; it became sharp for me. I went to the two trees and cut a branch from each. Then I dragged them and came back and stood where the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing. I placed one branch to my right and one to my left. Then I caught up with him and said, "I have done it, O Messenger of Allah! Why was this necessary?" He said, "I passed by two graves of those who were being tormented, and through my intercession, I prayed that their torment would be lightened as long as these branches remained alive." Afterwards, we came to the army. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Jabir, call out, 'Water for ablution!'" He commanded. I shouted, "Attention! Water for ablution! Attention, water for ablution! Attention, is there no water for ablution?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah! I could not find a single drop of water in the caravan." A man from the Ansar used to cool water for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in an old wineskin hanging on a palm branch. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "Go to so-and-so, son of so-and-so, and see if there is anything in his wineskin!" I went to him and looked in the wineskin. But I found nothing in it except a single drop at the mouth of the wineskin. If I were to empty it, the dry part of the wineskin would drink it. I immediately came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I found nothing in it except a single drop at the mouth of the wineskin. If I were to empty it, the dry part of the wineskin would drink it. Bring it to me!" He commanded. I immediately brought it to him. He took it with his hand and began to speak something I did not understand. He was also squeezing it with both hands. Then he gave it to me and said: "Jabir! Call out, 'A large bowl!'" I called out, "O owner of the bowl of the caravan!" They immediately carried it and brought it to me. I placed the bowl before him. Thereupon, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made the following gesture with his hand inside the bowl. He spread his hand and separated his fingers. Then he placed his hand at the bottom of the bowl and said: "Jabir! Take it and pour it over me and say 'Bismillah!'" I immediately poured the water over him and said 'Bismillah.' Subsequently, I saw the water boiling between the fingers of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Then the bowl boiled, turned, and finally filled. Thereupon he said: "Jabir! Call out to those who need water!" He was sleeping. Then the congregation came and drank water until they were satisfied. I said, "Is there anyone left who needs anything?" Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hand over the bowl, which was full. They complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about hunger, and he said, "May Allah feed you!" Then we reached the seashore. The sea became turbulent and threw out an animal. We lit a fire on half of this animal and cooked food. We roasted it and ate until we were full. Then I, so-and-so, and so-and-so (he counted five people) entered the eye bone of this animal. No one could see us. Finally, we came out. And we took a rib bone from one of its ribs and bent it. Then we brought the biggest man in the caravan, the biggest camel, and the biggest cloth. He went under it and did not even lower his head. It means a child approaching puberty. Some have said it means a child who has started eating, while others have said it means a five-year-old child. Although the word "wa ahazte" in the second narration is attributed with a (wa) in all versions of Muslim, Nawawi said this is an error and that the correct form is (ev). Because the intention is to wish for one person to wear a garment made of two striped fabric and the other a garment made of two ma'afiri fabric. It means two garments. Some have said it means two new garments. According to Abu Ubayda, a lexicographer, it means saffron. Asma'i said it means various fragrances combined with saffron. According to his definition, Khaluq also has the same meaning, which is also what is intended by hadith. Buwad: It is the name of one of the Juheyna mountains.
