حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَيْسَ بْنَ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ خَطَبَ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّكُمْ تَقْرَءُونَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ وَتَضَعُونَهَا عَلَى غَيْرِ مَا وَضَعَهَا اللَّهُ {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ} سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ إِذَا رَأَوْا الْمُنْكَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَلَمْ يُنْكِرُوهُ يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَعُمَّهُمْ اللَّهُ بِعِقَابِهِ.
Muhammad ibn Ja`far narrated to us, Shu`bah narrated to us, on the authority of Ismail, he said: I heard Qays ibn Abi Hazim, speaking on the authority of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may God be pleased with him. On the authority of him, he delivered a sermon and said, “O people, you are reading this verse and placing it in a way other than what God has placed it in.” Those who have believed are yourselves; those who go astray will not harm you, if you are guided.} I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying that when people They saw what was wrong among them, but they did not deny it. God is about to blind them with His punishment.
