Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44557

Abu Kamil told us, Abu Awanah told us, Othman bin Abi Zar’ah told us, on the authority of Ali bin Rabi’ah, on the authority of Asma bin Al-Hakam Al-Fazari, He said, “I heard Ali.” May God honor his face. He said, “Whenever I heard a hadith from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, God benefited me.” With it whatever He wanted to benefit me from it, and if someone else told me about it, I made him swear to me, and if he swore to me, I believed him, and Abu Bakr told me, and Abu Bakr told the truth. He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: There is no believing servant who commits a sin and performs ablution and purifies himself well, then prays two rak’ahs. Then he asks forgiveness from God Almighty, unless God forgives him. Then he recited: {And those who, when they commit an indecency or wrong themselves}.
