حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، وَحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بَيْنَا هُوَ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِذْ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لِمَ تَحْتَبِسُونَ عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ مَا هُوَ إِلَّا أَنْ سَمِعْتُ النِّدَاءَ فَتَوَضَّأْتُ فَقَالَ أَيْضًا أَوَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا رَاحَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ.
Hassan bin Musa and Hussein bin Muhammad narrated to us, saying: Shayban narrated to us, on the authority of Yahya, on the authority of Abu Salamah, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him. While he was giving the sermon on Friday, a man came and said to Omar: Why do you refrain from praying? The man said: What is it? However, I heard the call and performed ablution. He also said, “Did you not hear that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, says, ‘If one of you goes out for Friday Let him wash.
