حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، وَمَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسِ بْنِ الْحَدَثَانِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَتْ أَمْوَالُ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ مِمَّا أَفَاءَ اللَّهُ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِمَّا لَمْ يُوجِفْ الْمُسْلِمُونَ عَلَيْهِ بِخَيْلٍ وَلَا رِكَابٍ فَكَانَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَالِصَةً وَكَانَ يُنْفِقُ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ مِنْهَا نَفَقَةَ سَنَةٍ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً قُوتَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا بَقِيَ جَعَلَهُ فِي الْكُرَاعِ وَالسِّلَاحِ عُدَّةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of Amr, and Muammar, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Malik bin Aws bin Al-Hadathan, on the authority of Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him. He said: The wealth of Banu al-Nadir was from what God had bestowed upon His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, and for which the Muslims had not been miserly. There were no passengers, so it was purely for the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he used to spend a year’s worth of it on his family, and he said: “One time it was sustenance for a year and what He remained equipped with armor and weapons for the sake of God Almighty.
