Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44721

Abd al-Razzaq told us, Yunus bin Sulaym told me, he said: Yunus bin Yazid al-Ayli dictated to me on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Urwa bin al-Zubayr, On the authority of Abd al-Rahman ibn Abd al-Qari, I heard Omar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, saying that whenever it was revealed to the Messenger of God, he would pray May God bless him and grant him peace. The revelation was heard before his face, like the sound of bees. We stayed for an hour, then he faced the Qiblah and raised his hands and said, “O God, increase us.” And do not diminish us, and honor us, and do not disgrace us, and give us, and do not deprive us, and prefer us, and do not prefer us, and be pleased with us and our land, and then He said, “Indeed, ten verses have been revealed to me. Whoever abides by them will enter Paradise. Then, ‘Indeed, the believers have succeeded’ was recited to us until the ten were concluded.”
