حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كُنْتُ فِي رَكْبٍ أَسِيرُ فِي غَزَاةٍ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَحَلَفْتُ فَقُلْتُ لَا وَأَبِي فَنَهَرَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَلْفِي وَقَالَ لَا تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ فَالْتَفَتُّ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ‏.‏
Abdul Razzaq told us, Israel told us, on the authority of Simak, on the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said, Omar, may God be pleased with him, said, I was in I was riding in battle with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. I swore and I said, “No.” And my father, then a man behind me rebuked me and said, “Do not swear.” Your fathers. Then I turned and saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.
