حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مِغْوَلٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْفُضَيْلَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّخَعِيِّ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْكَلَالَةِ فَقَالَ تَكْفِيكَ آيَةُ الصَّيْفِ فَقَالَ لَأَنْ أَكُونَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ يَكُونَ لِي حُمْرُ النَّعَمِ.
Abu Nu`aym told us, Malik told us, meaning Ibn Mughal, he said: I heard Al-Fudayl bin Amr, on the authority of Ibrahim Al-Nakha’i, on the authority of Omar, may God be pleased with him. He said, “I asked the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, about calamity. He said, ‘The verse of summer is sufficient for you.’ He said, ‘Because I asked. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, is dearer to me than having red camels.
