حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ قَزَعَةَ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ يُعَذِّبُ اللَّهُ هَذَا الْمَيِّتَ بِبُكَاءِ هَذَا الْحَيِّ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا كَذَبْتُ عَلَى عُمَرَ وَلَا كَذَبَ عُمَرُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
Affan told us, Hammam told us, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Qaza’ah, he said, I said to Ibn Umar, “May God punish this dead person because of this living person’s crying,” and he said Omar told me on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. I did not lie about Omar, nor did Omar lie to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. And he greeted...
