حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، قَالَ صَلَّى عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ الصُّبْحَ وَهُوَ بِجَمْعٍ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ كُنَّا مَعَ عُمَرَ بِجَمْعٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَانُوا لَا يُفِيضُونَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ وَيَقُولُونَ أَشْرِقْ ثَبِيرُ وَإِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَالَفَهُمْ فَأَفَاضَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ.
Muhammad ibn Ja`far narrated to us, Shu`bah narrated to us, and Abu Dawud narrated to us on the authority of Shu`bah, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of Amr ibn Maimun, he said: Omar, may God be pleased with him, prayed May God bless him and grant him peace, and he was in the plural. Abu Dawud said, “We were with Omar in the plural,” and he said, “The polytheists did not disperse until the sun rose.” They say that it rose abundantly, but the Prophet of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, disagreed with them and rose before sunrise.
