Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44954

Bishr bin Shuaib told us, my father told me, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, Urwa bin Al-Zubayr told me, that Ubayd Allah bin Adi bin Al-Khayyar told him that Othman bin Affan, may God be pleased with him, said to him: My nephew said to him, “I met the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” He said, so I told him no. But he was able to express his knowledge and certainty to me as much as a virgin can understand in her concealment. He said, so he testified, then said, “As for what follows, it is God Almighty and Majestic.” Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sent with the truth, and I was among those who responded to God and His Messenger and believed in what Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sent with. May God bless him and grant him peace. Then I emigrated two migrations, as I said, and obtained the son-in-law of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. By God, I did not disobey him nor deceive him until God Almighty took his soul.
