Hadith #45037
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ كُنْتُ مُؤَمِّرًا أَحَدًا دُونَ مَشُورَةِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَأَمَّرْتُ ابْنَ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ‏.‏
Abu Sa`id narrated to us, Israel narrated to us, Abu Ishaq narrated to us, on the authority of Al-Harith, on the authority of Ali, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: If If I had appointed anyone without consulting the believers, I would have appointed Ibn Umm Abd.
