Hadith #45195
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا فِطْرٌ، عَنِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ، قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ وُلِدَ لِي بَعْدَكَ وَلَدٌ أُسَمِّيهِ بِاسْمِكَ وَأُكَنِّيهِ بِكُنْيَتِكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَكَانَتْ رُخْصَةً مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِعَلِيٍّ.
Waki` narrated to us, Fitr narrated to us, on the authority of al-Mundhir, on the authority of Ibn al-Hanafiyyah, he said: Ali, may God be pleased with him, said: O Messenger of God, have you seen if a son is born to me? After you I will have a son whom I will name by your name and give him your nickname. He said yes, so it was a permission from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. May Allah.
