Hadith #44849
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ خَطَبَ النَّاسَ بِالْجَابِيَةِ فَقَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلَّا مَوْضِعَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةٍ أَوْ أَرْبَعَةٍ وَأَشَارَ بِكَفِّهِ.
Muhammad bin Ja’far told us, Sa’id told us, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Al-Sha’bi, on the authority of Suwayd bin Ghafla, that Omar, may God be pleased with him, addressed the people With the jabiya, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, he forbade wearing silk except where there are two or three fingers or Four and pointed with his palm
