Yahya bin Adam told us, Israel told us, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of Hani bin Hani, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, who said when he was born Al-Hasan, I called it Harb. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came and said, “Show me my son. Whatever you have named him.” He said, “Harb.” He said, “Rather, it is Hasan.” When Hussein was born, I named him Harb. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came and said, “Show me my son. What have you named him?” He said, “Harb.” He said, “Rather, it is.” Hussein, and when the third was born, I named him Harb. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, came and said, “Show me what my son is.” You named him. I said, “Harb.” He said, “Rather, he is a Muhsin.” Then he said, “I named them after the names of the sons of Aaron: Shabar, Shubayr, and Mushabbar.”
