Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45830

Yazid bin Abdul Rabbo told us, Al-Harith bin Ubaidah told us, Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Mujabar told me, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather, Othman, may God be pleased with him, supervised those who besieged him and greeted them, but they did not respond to him. Othman, may God be pleased with him, said: Is there Talha among the people? Talha said, “Yes.” He said, “To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.” I greet a people. You are among them, so do not refuse. He said, “I have returned.” He said, “What?” This is the response: I hear you but you do not hear me, O Talha. I adjure you by God. Did you hear the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, say, “No.” It is permissible for a Muslim to shed his blood except for one of three things: he disbelieves after his belief, or he commits adultery after being pure, or he kills a soul and is killed for it. He said Oh God, yes, so Othman grew up and said, By God, I have never denied God since I knew Him, nor did I commit adultery during ignorance or Islam, and I abandoned Him in The pre-Islamic period was out of compulsion, and in Islam it was out of self-control, and I have not killed a soul for which it is permissible to kill me.
