Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45240

Abu Sa`id, the client of Banu Hashim, told us: Yahya bin Salamah, meaning Ibn Kuhayl, told us, he said: I heard my father speaking, about the Arni seed, he said: I saw Ali, may God be pleased with him, laughing on the pulpit. I never saw him laugh more than him, until his molars became visible. Then he said, “I mentioned a saying.” Abu Talib Abu Talib appeared to us while I was with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and we were praying under a palm tree. He said, “What are you doing?” O my nephew, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, called him to Islam and said, “What is wrong with what you do or what you say?” It's okay, but by God, never let me suffer. He laughed in amazement at his father's statement, then said, "Oh God, I do not acknowledge that your servant is one of these." The nation is your servant before me, other than your prophet, three times. I prayed seven times before the people prayed.
