Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45248

Hadba bin Khalid told us, Hammam told us, Ali bin Zaid told us, on the authority of Abdullah bin Al-Harith, that his father, the custodian of Uthman’s food, said It is as if I was looking at a partridge around a bowl, and then a man came and said that Ali, may God be pleased with him, hates this, so he sent for Ali, and he He smeared his hands with confusion and said, “You often quarrel with us.” He said, “Ali, I should remind God.” He who witnessed the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was brought with incapacity. A wild ass while he was in ihram, and he said, “We are in ihram, so feed it to the people of the law.” Then some men stood up and testified, then he said, “I remember God.” A man witnessed that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was brought five eggs, ostrich eggs, and he said, “We are in a state of Ihram, so feed him to the people of the law.” Then some men stood up and testified. So Othman got up and entered his tent, and they left food for the people of the water.
