Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45259
Hadith #45259
Affan told us, Hammad told us, on the authority of Ata’ bin Al-Sa’ib, on the authority of Zazan, that Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, drank while standing and looked at him. The people seemed to deny him, so he said, “What do you wait if he drinks while standing? I have seen the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, drinking.” Standing, even if he drinks while sitting, I have seen the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, drinking while sitting.
