حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَنْبَأَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، كَانَ يَأْتِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَكُنْتُ إِذَا وَجَدْتُهُ يُصَلِّي سَبَّحَ فَدَخَلْتُ وَإِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ يُصَلِّي أَذِنَ.
Ali bin Ishaq told us, Abdullah told us, Yahya bin Ayyub told us, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Zuhar, on the authority of Ali bin Yazid, On the authority of Al-Qasim, on the authority of Abu Umamah, that Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, told him that he used to come to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. He said, “When I found him praying, I would say the Subhanahu, so I would go in, and if he was not praying, I would call the Adhan.”
