Hadith #45473
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ أَجْعَلَ الْخَاتَمَ فِي هَذِهِ أَوْ فِي هَذِهِ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ لِأُصْبُعَيْهِ السَّبَّابَةِ وَالْوُسْطَى.
Abdul Rahman told us, on the authority of Sufyan, and Abdul Razzaq, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Asim, meaning Ibn Kulayb, on the authority of Abu Burdah, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him. God on his authority said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, forbade me from putting the seal on this or that. Abdul Razzaq said For his index and middle fingers.
