حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جُرَيَّ بْنَ كُلَيْبٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ عَضَبِ الْأُذُنِ وَالْقَرْنِ قَالَ فَسَأَلْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيَّبِ مَا الْعَضَبُ فَقَالَ النِّصْفُ فَمَا فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ.
Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi told us, Shu`bah told us, on the authority of Qatada, he said: I heard Jari bin Kulayb, speaking on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, he said The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade cutting the ear and the ear.
