حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَمَرَّ بِهِ جَنَازَةٌ فَقَامَ لَهَا نَاسٌ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أَفْتَاكُمْ هَذَا فَقَالُوا أَبُو مُوسَى قَالَ إِنَّمَا فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّةً فَكَانَ يَتَشَبَّهُ بِأَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فَلَمَّا نُهِيَ انْتَهَى.
Abdul Razzaq told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Laith, on the authority of Mujahid, on the authority of Abu Muammar, he said: We were with Ali, may God be pleased with him, and he passed by a funeral. Then people stood up for her, and Ali, may God be pleased with him, said: Who gave you this fatwa? They said: Abu Musa said: Only the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, did that. One time, may God bless him and grant him peace, he was imitating the People of the Book, but when it was forbidden, he stopped.
