Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45642

Abdul Razzaq told us, Ibn Jurayj told us, Ibn Shihab told me, on the authority of Ali bin Hussein bin Ali, on the authority of his father, Hussein bin Ali, on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, said: Ali said, “I was wounded with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, in the sheep field on the day of Badr, and the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, gave me another gate, so I broke them one day at the door of a man from the Ansar, and I wanted to I will bring an item for them to sell, and I have with me a jeweler from Banu Qaynuqa’ to use it for the feast of Fatima and Hamza bin Abd. Al-Muttalib was drinking in that house, so Hamza rose up against them with the sword, cut off their humps and cut off their sides, then took some of their livers. I said to Ibn Shihab, “And from the hump.” He said, “Put out their humps,” and he took them away. He said, “So I looked at a sight that horrified me, so I came to the Prophet of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him.” May God bless him and grant him peace. Zayd ibn Haritha was with him, so I told him the news, so Zayd went out with him, and he went with him and went to see Hamza and became angry with him. Then Hamza raised his gaze and said, “Are you nothing but slaves to my father?” Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, returned, laughing until he left. On their authority, and that was before the prohibition of alcohol.
