حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ النَّاجِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْفَزَارِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي آخِرِ وِتْرِهِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَمُعَافَاتِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ لَا أُحْصِي ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ.
Abdullah told us, Ibrahim bin Al-Hajjaj Al-Naji told us, Hammad bin Salamah told us, on the authority of Hisham bin Amr Al-Fazari, on the authority of Abdul Al-Rahman bin Al-Harith bin Hisham, on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was He says at the end of his Witr verse: O God, I seek refuge in Your satisfaction from Your anger and Your pardon from Your punishment, and I seek refuge in You from You. I do not count Your praise as You You praised yourself...
