Muhammad bin Ubaid told us, Hashim, meaning Ibn al-Barid, told us, on the authority of Ismail al-Hanafi, on the authority of Muslim al-Batin, on the authority of Abu Abdul Rahman Al-Sulami, he said, Ali, may God be pleased with him, took my hand and we started walking until we sat on the shore of the Euphrates, and Ali, may God be pleased with him, said On his authority, the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: There is not a lost soul but that misery or happiness from God has preceded it. Then a man got up and said: Oh The Messenger of God, “What then shall we do?” He said, “Work; for every person is facilitated for that for which he was created.” Then he recited this verse: {So as for he who gives and fears And he believed in the best, up to his saying, “So We will make it easy for hardship.”
