حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ يَا عَلِيُّ إِنَّ لَكَ كَنْزًا مِنْ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّكَ ذُو قَرْنَيْهَا فَلَا تُتْبِعْ النَّظْرَةَ النَّظْرَةَ فَإِنَّمَا لَكَ الْأُولَى وَلَيْسَتْ لَكَ الْآخِرَةُ.
Affan narrated to us, Hammad bin Salamah narrated to us, Muhammad bin Ishaq narrated to us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Taymi, on the authority of Salama bin Abi Tufayl, on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to him, “O Ali, you have a treasure of Paradise, and you are the owner of its two horns, so do not follow one look with another, for the first is only yours and the afterlife is not yours.
