حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو وَسَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ، {وَإِذْ صَرَفْنَا إِلَيْكَ} وَقُرِئَ عَلَى سُفْيَانَ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ نَفَرًا مِنْ الْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقُرْآنَ قَالَ بِنَخْلَةَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ كَادُوا يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا قَالَ سُفْيَانُ كَانَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ كَاللِّبَدِ بَعْضُهُ عَلَى بَعْضٍ.
Sufyan told us, Amr said, and I heard Ikrimah, {And when We turned to you} and it was read to Sufyan on the authority of al-Zubayr, a group of jinn They were listening to the Qur’an. He said, “By Nakhlah, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was praying the last night’s prayer.” They almost became a mess for him. He said Sufyan: They were on each other like sand, one on another.
