Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #48704

Aisha said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came out when the visor of the sun appeared and sat on the He took the pulpit and said “Allahu Akbar” and thanked God Almighty, then he said: “You have complained about the barrenness of your homes and the fact that rain was delayed for a long period of time from you. أَمَرَكُمُ الله عزوجل أَنْ تَدْعُوهُ وَوَعَدَكُمْ أَنْ يَسْتَجِيبَ لَكُمْ» . Then he said: “Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, the King of the Day Religion: There is no god but God. He does what He wants. Oh God, you are God. There is no god but You, the rich, and we are the poor. Send down upon us rain, and make what You have sent down for us strength and enlightenment for a while.” Then he raised his hands and did not stop raising them until the whites of his armpits became visible.
