Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #48809

On the authority of Haritha bin Mudarib, who said: I entered upon Khabab, who had been wounded by seven people, and he said: Had I not heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: “None of you should wish for death” because he wished for it. And you saw me with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and I did not own a dirham. And there are forty thousand dirhams in the side of my house now. He said, “Then his shroud was brought, and when he saw it, he cried and said, ‘But Hamzah, there was no shroud for him except A salt cloak, which, when placed on his head, is trimmed from his feet, and when placed on his feet, is trimmed from his head until it is extended over his head. The Idhikhir was placed on his feet. Narrated by Ahmad and Al-Tirmidhi, but he did not mention: Then his shroud was brought to the end.
