Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #49055
Hadith #49055
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: A man said: O Messenger of God, which charity has the greatest reward? He said:
“To give alms when you are healthy and stingy, fearing poverty and hoping for wealth, and do not give respite until, when you reach the throat, you say: For so-and-so and so-and-so.” Such-and-such and it was for so-and-so.”
