On the authority of Buraydah, he said: I was sitting with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, when a woman came to him and said, O Messenger of God, I had given in charity to my mother’s slave girl. And she died. He said: “Your reward is due and the inheritance is due on you.” She said, O Messenger of God, that she was required to fast for a month. Should I fast on her behalf? He said: “Fast on her behalf.” She said, O Messenger of God, she has never performed Hajj. Should I perform Hajj on her behalf? He said: “Yes, perform Hajj on her behalf.” Narrated by Muslim
