Hadith #49346
وَعَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «قِرَاءَةُ الرَّجُلِ الْقُرْآنَ فِي غَيْرِ الْمُصْحَفِ أَلْفُ دَرَجَةٍ وَقِرَاءَتُهُ فِي الْمُصحف تضعف عل ذَلِك إِلَى ألفي دَرَجَة» . رَوَاهُ الْبَيْهَقِيّ فِي شعب الْإِيمَان
On the authority of Othman bin Abdullah bin Aws Al-Thaqafi, on the authority of his grandfather, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “A man reading the Qur’an in other than The Qur’an is worth a thousand degrees, and reading it in the Qur’an is weakened by that to two thousand degrees.” Narrated by Al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab Al-Iman
