Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #49468

On the authority of Buraydah, may God be pleased with him, he said: I entered the mosque with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, at dinner, and suddenly a man was reciting and raising his voice. I said: O Messenger of God, do you say this is hypocrisy? He said: “Rather, he is a repentant believer.” He said: And Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari recited and raised his voice, so he made The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was listening to its recitation, then Abu Musa sat down to pray and said: Oh God, I bear witness that you are God, there is no god but You are a steadfast person who did not give birth, nor was he born, nor was there anyone equal to him. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “He has asked God by His name, by which when asked, He gives, and when called by, He answers.” I said: O Messenger of God, should I tell him what I heard from you? He said: “Yes.” So I told him what the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, and he said to me: Today you are a friend of mine. You told me the hadith of the Messenger of God. May God bless him and grant him peace. Narrated by Razin
