Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #49688
Hadith #49688
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “O people, God has ordained the Hajj for you.” Al-Aqra’ bin Habis stood up and said: Is it every year, O Messenger of God? He said:
“If I had said it: Yes, it would have been obligatory. And if it had become obligatory, you would not have acted upon it nor been able. Hajj is only once, so whoever does more, do it voluntarily.” Narrated by Ahmad, Al-Nasa’i and Al-Darimi
