Hadith #50129
On the authority of Amr, he said: I said to Tawus: If communicating with people is abandoned, then they claim that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade it. He said: Yes, Amr. I give them and help them, even though the most knowledgeable of them told me, meaning Ibn Abbas, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, did not forbid it, but He said: “That none of you should give something to his brother is better for him than taking a known tax from him.”
