Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #50585
Hadith #50585
On the authority of Imran bin Husayn, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say:
“A vow is two vows: whoever makes a vow of obedience, that is for God and there is no fulfillment in it. And whoever makes a vow of disobedience, that is for Satan and there is no fulfillment in it.” And what expiates for it is what expiates for an oath.” Narrated by Al-Nasa’i
