Hadith #50630
On the authority of Amr bin Shuaib, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, delivered a speech in the year of the conquest, then he said: “O people, there is no swearing.” In Islam, and whatever swearing there was in pre-Islamic times, Islam does not increase it except the hardening of the believers’ hand against everyone else. He will retaliate against the lowest of them and repel the furthest of them. He will return their troops to their base. A believer is not killed by an infidel. The blood money for an infidel is half the blood money for a Muslim, neither for sacrilege, nor for genocide, nor for genocide. “Their alms are taken only in their homes.” In a narration, he said: “The blood money for a person who has covenants is half the blood money for a free man.” Narrated by Abu Dawood
