Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #50697

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: Ma’iz al-Aslami came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: He had committed adultery, so he turned away from it, then came from his other side. He said: He had committed adultery, so he turned away from it. Then he came from the other side and said: O Messenger of God, he had committed adultery, so he ordered it to be done on the fourth day. So he was taken out to Al-Harrah and stoned with stones. When he found himself touching the stones, he ran away intensified until he passed a man who had the jawbone of a camel and hit him with it. People beat him until he died. So they mentioned that to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, that he was happy and felt that he touched stones and touched death, so he said The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace: “Will you leave him alone?” Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah, and in a narration: “Will you leave him alone, perhaps God will turn to him?”
