Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #51102

On the authority of Salama bin Al-Akwa’, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sent his back with Rabah, the servant of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. And I was with him, and when we were in the morning, I saw Abd al-Rahman al-Fazari attacking the back of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. So I stood on a hill and faced the city, and I called three times, “O morning,” then I went out in pursuit of the people, shooting arrows at them, shaking, and saying: I am the son of Al-Akwa' and today is the day of infants, so I continued to shoot them and cartwheel them until God created a camel from the back of the Messenger of God. By God, may God bless him and grant him peace, I left him behind my back, then I followed them, throwing them until they threw more than thirty cloaks and thirty spears. They make light of it and do not throw anything except that I place piles of stones on it that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, recognizes. and his companions, until I saw the horsemen of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and Abu Qatada, the horseman of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, followed Abu Qatada. With Abd al-Rahman and he killed him. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The best of our knights today is Abu Qatada and the best “Our men are safe.” He said: Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, gave me two shares: the horseman’s share and the footman’s share, so he collected them all for me, then the Messenger brought me back. May God bless him and grant him peace. He followed him to the group, returning to Medina. Narrated by Muslim
